” Transform ” is an art piece inspired by Yinchuan, the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in China, and my personal journey overcoming fear. This artwork captures the region’s rich cultural heritage and dramatic landscapes, symbolizing the path from fear to empowerment. It illustrates the Taoist principles of Yin and Yang, with **Yin** representing comfort and support, and **Yang** embodying the courage to confront challenges.
Embracing a spontaneous essence, the piece reflects experiences meant to be rather than simply different. Influenced by 1950s American traditional tattoo style it features a girl on a motorcycle, facing her truths with fearless resolve, accompanied by the personification of death.
An inner butterfly symbolizes the unknown beauty of romance and transformation, with psychedelic colors bringing a vivid inner imagination to life. The half-sun represents the fleeting nature of life’s insecurities, urging us to cherish transient moments. Including a mandala-inspired element as a tribute to my grandmother’s iconic style, the eyes in the artwork convey the romantic notion of seeing deeply into someone’s soul. Through this piece, I explore my journey of acceptance and freedom, embracing life in the moment, living fully, and letting go.
